From chad at iris.washington.edu Wed Apr 8 09:49:22 2009 From: chad at iris.washington.edu (Chad) Date: Wed, 8 Apr 2009 09:49:22 -0700 Subject: [irisdmc-help] Fwd: Data Help Again References: Message-ID: <1E539BD3-505F-41E9-81BC-A04525733748@iris.washington.edu> Bharath, I am forwarding your message to the irisdmc-help email list so that others may be able to help you out. The irisdmc-help list is intended for data users to assist each other in a community fashion, more information is available here: http://www.iris.washington.edu/mailman/listinfo/irisdmc-help As for your question most data requests for AutoDRM are returned in GSE format, the .msg extension is probably something added by your mail client when you saved the message. The DMC has a gse2mseed (GSE to Mini-SEED converter) on our site for free use: http://www.iris.edu/pub/programs/converters/ I tried converting the sample you sent me and the data failed the CHK2 test (chksums did not match), luckily there is an option in gse2mseed to ignore the chksum mismatches and convert the data anyway, but it leaves the question of potential data corruption unanswered. The ORFEUS site also has some GSE converters: http://www.orfeus-eu.org/Software/conversion.html Note that the gse2seed converter does not support the CM6 compression type used in the data sample you sent me.
